Q. Is this site affiliated or officially endorsed by Laney?
A. No, this is a privately owned fansite, we are not connected to Laney in any way apart from liking their amps very much!
Q. Why did you make this website when there is Laney-Posse already?
A. When I started my website, I wasn't aware of that website. I had already paid for domain and server etc so I decided to carry on.
Q. What happened to the old green fuzzy logo?
A. I didn't particularly like it, so it was swapped for the current logo. It may change again in the future, if you have a good idea for a logo please send it to me for consideration.
Q. Will you put in a link for my site?
A. Yes for sure, if it is music related. All I ask for is a link back to my site in return. Even if your site isn't music related, I would still put it on my site if you contribute to the site by submitting info about amps or sound clips.

Q. Fender Hot Rod Deluxe or Laney VC30?
A. Laney amps have a long history. Their first prototype Laney amp was created by the company founder Lyndon Laney for his friends in his parent's garden shed in 1967. Laney soon became a pioneer of creating "Heavy Metal" amps.
A. It depends on which genre of metal, but GH50L is very versatile and perfect for anything that doesn't require perfectly clean clean sound. If you do, however, then my recommendation would be VH100R, the drive channel has enormous gain, slightly tighter than the GH, and the clean channel is very chimey and fender like. Check the sound clips of the amps in our sound clips section; listen to the death metal clip of GH50L by Totalimmortal it's lethal!.
A. The early Sabbath albums are widely believed to have been recorded with Laney Supergroups and Klipps, so you won't get the exact same tone. Tonni Iommi uses GH100TI exclusively in his tours so you could probably nail his modern sound.
A1. General advice: use a good quality cable, have the control cavity of your guitar shielded, use good quality wax potted pickups. Oh and stand away from the amp a bit more :)
A2. Tackling the cause: Upgrade the first preamp valve of your amp. This is the first valve that your guitar signal goes through and is very crucial to the amp's preamp.
A3. Tackling the problem: Buy a Boss NS-2, it works better than others because it has a loop within itself. Connect guitar to input, then send to amp input, from preamp out of your amp plug into Return on the NS-2 and finally Out of NS-2 to Poweramp In. It is described in more detail here
A. Fender HRD has a horribly muddy, farty drive channel particularly bad if you play a humbucker eqipped guitar. Not to mention the stupid volume knob that goes from nothing to full in the first 4.
